Does it phone home?

No. Flipper Pro makes no outbound network calls. All flag data stays in your database.

Can I use Flipper Pro without Flipper Cloud?

Yes. Flipper Pro is fully standalone. Cloud is a separate product with its own features and pricing.

Does it work with my existing Flipper OSS setup?

Yes. Flipper Pro is a drop-in upgrade on top of your existing adapter and flag data.

What Ruby and Rails versions are supported?

Flipper Pro requires Rails 6.1+ and Flipper 1.3+. It runs on any Ruby version those support. If you're on a recent Rails app with a recent Flipper, you're good. Pro requires Rails — non-Rails Ruby apps that use OSS Flipper aren't supported.

What databases does it support?

Anything ActiveRecord supports: PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite.

How do I upgrade from OSS?

Add the flipper-pro gem with the credential from your license email, run the migrations, and mount the engine. Full walkthrough on the Installation page.

Is there a free trial?

No free trial. If Flipper Pro doesn't function properly for you within two weeks of purchase, email us for a full refund. See Pricing for details.

How is Flipper Pro licensed?

Commercial, per-organization, non-transferable, non-redistributable. The OSS Flipper gem is MIT. Flipper Pro is not.

Full terms: the EULA shipped with the gem.

Short version: you can install Pro on any number of servers and environments under your control. You cannot redistribute the gem, embed it in a product you ship to third parties, or use it as the basis for a competing product.
